I’ve written almost 250 articles since I relaunched this once-abandoned site over 2 1/2 years ago. I’ve written over half a million words. Most of all, I’ve held myself accountable for continuing what has become my most ambitious personal project.
I’m proud of my commitment, and my growth as a writer.
I didn’t start this under the assumption that people would actually read what I wrote here. I just wanted to start writing again. To see that I’ve hit over one million page views in a year is wild.
Is that a lot? I’m not sure, but it sure as hell feels like it so I’m celebrating regardless!
I just want to take a quick second to thank all of my friends for their support. Be it entertaining my dumb excitement/hype, celebrating milestones with me, or sacrificing yourselves to play various one-shots to help me with reviews, I really appreciate it.
I purposely put off last month’s semi-annual update just so I could ship it out when I hit this milestone, so without further adieu here’s how everything’s going.
All in all, things have stagnated since my last update. I’ll take it though considering I scaled back from two posts per week to one. Hell, I’ve missed a few weeks to boot!
Our e-mail list (feel free to sign up using the form on the sidebar) has been steadily growing during this time too. We just hit over 225 subscribers which has been great for getting more eyes on new posts!
My portion of Johnn Four’s GMing course is going well and nearing the finish line! I’ll have some more, concrete updates once that’s closer to release, but I’m proud of my work.
It’s been a great experience for me and I feel like my skills as a writer have grown since starting the project. “Less is more” was the biggest lesson for me and I think that’s shined through in the recent Monster Mondays.
Johnn has been a fantastic mentor!
All in all, I’m content and seriously considering keeping this one article per week schedule. It’s allowed me to focus on quality rather than quantity. Plus, it’s given me some much-needed spare time for other important stuff.
I’m also mulling over doing some more contracted work. I’ve had a lot of fun writing this GMing course and it’s been a great learning experience for me. The extra beer money is a sweet bonus too. I might look for some more of that before going back to my original release schedule.
I’m also considering a revamp of the website during my holiday break in December. I don’t mind the current layout but I think it could be modernized.
Thanks again for your continued readership,
